1 Mar 2009Here’s a really clever way to get clients.
The guy over at http://stylst.com has a website, that just features his work on the front page, with nothing more than a contact form
I started trying to find some of these sites, and it became obvious, they didn’t exist. Furthermore, @stylst then tweeted asking if anyone wanted to purchase this design:

Then he has a Hire Me link on his homepage http://stylst.com/contact.php that doesn’t even include a contact form, just an email address, which I think is completely acceptable.
All this guy has done is create around 20 site designs (photoshop only, no HTML) and put pictures of them on his page.
If you could churn out a design a day (remember, it’s one page, you don’t have to worry about content, doing HTML, or client feedback) and post it on a page, within a week you would have something suitable to share. Add in some actual jobs, and before long you will look big time.
It helps that Gary Vaynerchuck gave him a promo, but really, all this guy needs is his designs which stand up as a testement to his skills. As a programmer, all I need a designer to do for me is exactly what he is proving he can do.
Great work stylst.com - all the best to you!
